Regardless of how much I may

Regardless of how much I may like train robots, that price seems a little steep for a Go-Onger set.

I agree- something fishy

I agree- something fishy is going on here.

I most certainly do not wanna F-up and buy another version of the DaiVoyager or Siren Builder [that I've covered for CDX]. It may, however, be nothing more than a motorized rolling action in vehicle mode, and some steam engine pistons move with it when it rolls, that have put the price up there. We don't have to worry about light-&-sound because that's already covered with the expected Engine Soul(s) within.

Again, I'm playing the sit-and-watch game right now with this set. I want to see others' reactions, and I want to see all of the features before I bite as well.

I, too, am a little nuts

I, too, am a little nuts about train-robots...but I sure hope the combined robot mode looks better in person than in that pic. Looks a bit dumpy there...

Then again, there's pretty much no way I'll be able to resist a train-robo with a dinosaur motif!

The price is a bit daunting, too...I'm hoping the 10k+ yen figure is incorrect. Rolling action with pistons and other mechanical stuff going would be cool, but I could live without it (in favor of a price drop).

Anyway, I'm hoping either to pick a set up directly from my agent in Japan or via some retailer site's preorder. We'll see.

Oh, by the way, here's a shot of the gorgeous train mode:

Sentai, not as cool as it used to be.

I used to LOVE Power Rangers/Sentai stuff in the 90's. This decade has been kinda blah in comparison. I loved the Gaoranger/PR Wild Force line, I got the black repaint on Gouraisepuujin (the only actual Japanese sentai toy I have), skipped Abaranger/PR Dinoforce, skipped Dekaranger/PR SPD but did get Titan Megazord from Mystic Force. I stopped there and haven't really cared about anything they've done since then. I'm not sure if it's me changing tastes (where I use to like Sentai, I mostly like 80's mecha and moe now) or just that these designs lack any true originality (granted, Super Sentai is quite possibly one of the most regurgitated franchises ever) but still it's like they're not even trying anymore with this year's line and have the mecha combine in a jumbled mess whereas the the older sentaI robots were able to reuse and hide any unused parts.

I just brought my kyoretsuo

I just brought my kyoretsuo home and took him out of the box. Being that this is my first DX go-onger mecha I'm psyched. I really like the look of the completed mecha, and while I thought this was an obvious homage to the first pr megazord, dizyuzin from zyuranger, I haven't heard anyone really say anything to that effect. Zyuranger was the last time a mecha had a mammoth, t-rex, and triceratops in it. Overall, I'm really happy with it. that being said, he was very expensive- I paid $209.99 + tax, for an all told price of $224.00- which officially makes this the most expensive mecha I've ever bought.

Wow- you just got, like,

Wow- you just got, like, ripped-off! O.o; Holy smokes. MSRP is only, like, USD $70! I didn't even pay that much for my "Boukenger" DX DaiVoyager or "TF Galaxy Force" Primus.

Yeah, just the head is regularly compared to Daizyujin's.

But these three are still too ugly in any of their forms for me to get them. My recently-acquired(!) Jumbwhale will be my last DX mecha review from "Go-Onger".

Kyouretsu Oh's Basic Overview

Hello guys, I am back again after my college exams. I just bought a DX Kyouretsu-Oh off from my local agent at US$60+ and I'd say, even at this price, I would feel a little overpaid. First off, this set retails at 9800 yen according to the barcode at the back, so it obviously translates to around US$100 to 120. Getting it at half the price might be a delight but it actually ain't so bright after all. I am still wondering why Kyouretsu-Oh is priced so high. It has only 3 Engines and 1 Engine Kishamoth Soul, much like the DX Engine-Oh set. However, it is worthy to note that the combined size of Kyouretsu-Oh is bigger or you can say fatter compared to Engine-Oh because of the mammoth head in front. Aside from that I can't think of any other explanations on this price.

Ah, wait. There is one more. Since Bandai Japan obviously thinks that a final Engine-Oh G-12 set looks attractive, they are attracting collectors to pick this up even at a bulked up price. Despite all that, I would say that the Kyouretsu-Oh is quite sturdy and made from very good quality plastic pieces.

The Engines do not talk in the show so what you get from inserting the souls in are just sounds of steam trains starting and mammoth sounds. And this brings us to the DX Kan Kan Bar to pick the other 2 Engine Souls up for K-Line and T-Line.

That's all I can say for now as I do not have all the Engines (I only have the Kyouretsu-Oh and Carrigator) so I can't judge how well this set adds to G-12 as a whole. I just hope to collect all of the Japanese Engines rather than the DX Megazords in RPM because I like the speaking Engines and not pancake Souls.
