7 comments postedSorry guys we still have at least five Valkyries to do before getting to enemy mecha. Yamato even mentioned they may redo some earlier toys to bring them up to their now incredible standards :3
Well in an interview where they covered the VF-4 the guy currently in charge of the Macross stuff (calls himself Mister K) wanted to either redo things like the YF-21 and the YF-19 or even go back and redo the first product he was involved with which was the Sv-51. He also talked about wanting to do Valkyries that haven't gotten toys yet like the VF-9, VF-14, and VF-0D.
Here's the article.
Here's a short translation.
I've heard there's nothing on the table right now but that's the direction he's looking to explore. Mister K says he's a really big Macross 7 so the Fire Valkyrie was loaded with as many gimmicks as possible. You can pretty much classify everything that came after to be on a whole new level for their Macross toys. And to be perfectly honest, the Yamato VF-4 is making even the renewal VF-25's seem a little lacking. It's kind of surreal how good they're getting.
Oh and about that Yamato Mighty Block stand I used in the review. They are nice and compact but they are desperately in need to some strengthening around their main pivot point with some clear coat or floor polish. They get really loose when you put a Valkyrie on them without being prepped :<
I would love to see the Macross Zero stuff get some love again. I like the SV-51 as is, though I'm sure we could see some improvements made.
I'd be really curious to see what kind of improvements a new 21 would bring about.
Whatever they are planning, I say bring it on, it's a great time to be a Macross fan.
*prays Yamato runs out of repaints soon and starts working on a 1/60 VF-2SS w/ SAP*
When people ask for that one, Yamato always says they will not do it. Your best is with Bandai who have tried to incorporate it into new toy lines.
Another great show fellas, thx.
I really wish I paid more attention to theses earlier. The IV, machine and monger are bad ass. I'm thinking of jumping in on the VII...
As far as the VV, I just hope it's worth the wait (and bs stories about its delays)
JB, make some VV sketches.
Another collection dx figure would be cool, something silly. Would've been good bait for the indigo campaign.
