Take 2

The most eye catching feature is the led. The same technology used in the movie. Sadly hasbro can't say lights without the suffix n'sounds. I guess when hasbro sees something that obvious they have to call bill at lights and sounds. Bill says he needs six months to engineer this and a 2"x4" cavity the same as 1989. Thanks for the update bill!

Oh Hot Toys, why must you

Oh Hot Toys, why must you continue to tempt me with these things? This looks so incredible, yet no matter what way I rationalize it, I can't justify a $500 price tag.

AMAZING

Ha! No matter what they (or anyone else who has sculpted this) do, they just cannot get Stane to look like he can actually fit in that thing. Where are your legs, Stane? No one knows!

Seriously though: Given your review, I have never seen a toy so expensive that actually LOOKS like it it worth that much! Not only do they give it all, but they actually go the extra mile to let you use the features but also protect the figure (like the soft rim inside the hemet to protect Stane's head). Amazing! Very impressive when you consider how many toys out there that get damaged from using a feature that it was built to use.

Also: I suppose this might be a brick compared to some, but honestly you displayed some impressive articulation for what is there! Perhaps I was just expecting less by the looks of it (that and another review I saw talked about articulation, but didn't actually display any in pics). I mean, for what it is, it REALLY moves! The action shots you showed display that perfectly.

All in all this is totally out of my price range, but it's nice to see that the money you spend really goes toward the amazing attention to detail and function that you would expect from that much cash.

Thanks for the nice comments.

Thanks for the nice comments. The figure really is not a brick at all, but I can imagine that the price makes some people hesitant to really push it for fear of damaging something. I've experience with enough Hot Toys armored character figures now to have a pretty good sense for what to expect, so I didn't hesitate to put this guy through his paces because that's what Hot Toys figures are meant to do.

There's actually a really good image from during production of the film of how the pilot sits in an earlier rendition of the Monger suit (who was actually still Crimson Dynamo at that point in production) I will take a picture from the book and post it up this weekend, because once you see where he's supposed to be it does make much more sense.
