Not a PG copy?

I'm seeing a lot of similarities to the PG version of the Strike. That's not to say that it isn't impressive, as they seem to be trying / are succeeding to meet the same level of fit and finish as a Metal Build or Metal Composite Bandai figure.

How tall is the figure? 1/72 seems like a strange scale as Metal Build figures are around 10in tall and are 1/100 scale, which is the same as most MG kits. 1/72 is a lot closer to 1/60 (standard PG scale) which would be closer to 11-12 in tall. This would lend more credence to it being a rehash of the PG model kit.

Either way I'm thinking about picking this up, as it looks fantastic.

I had the chance to compare

I had the chance to compare it to my friend's PG Strike. There are definitely similarities, especially from below the waist. But because this doesn't share the internal frame, the arms and torso work pretty differently. I will get back to you on the height of the figure, but it's quite a bit smaller than the PG. Honestly the unusual scale is what I like about the piece. It helps set itself apart from like a Metal Build alike or Perfect Grade copy.

It's bigger than Metal Build

It's bigger than Metal Build and smaller than PG robotjapan.proboards has some scale images you can see vs, PG, MG and MB. Great looking figure if it was MB scale I would be all about it. Just google "scale."

Scale

The USA released DX Sazabi, Nu, GP-01fb and GP-02 are all 1/72 scale as well, not to mention the old DX V and V Hexa Gundams -so there is precedent in using that scale for Gundam toys, This is just the first diecast one as of yet, AFAIK. I find it a little odd that this particular model was chosen for the 1/72 treatment since there will be a 1/72 Aile released by Bandai relatively soon. I am almost tempted to swoop this up and track down some of those old DXs to hang with it. Almost.

On another note, I wouldn't fold those wires like that, as crimping them will eventually cause a short.

Is there a new 1/72 Strike in

Is there a new 1/72 Strike in the works? I wasn't aware of it myself.

Also yeah, I've been meaning to shorten the wire length in order to avoid it crimping. I've just been too lazy to do it as of yet haha.
