Dalek Strategist

Review by JoshB
Daleks are cool. There's no denying it really. One cannot ever have enough Dalek toys.
This is one of the new Dalek models from the episode "Victory of the Daleks" where the 11th Doctor (Matt Smith) encounter a group of multi-colored Daleks with unique functionality. If you know anything about the Daleks, they are pretty much without personality or distinction, so it was interesting to see "Unique" Daleks.
This also marked the first appearance of this new, "Fat" Dalek. From the front, it appears little changed from the classic design, but look from the side you can see that the Dalek has gained quite a bit of mass.
The toy itself is not bad, but not remarkable. The toy feels rather light, and for the price point (around $20 USD), should have included some kind of gimmick.
What it does do is roll around on three plastic wheels, the head moves, as does the eye stalk and the two weapons.
It does look good - good detail and a nice glossy paint job. I just wish it felt a little more substantial, thats all.

The latest series started last weekend in the UK and with a real humdinger of an episode; its unknown if the Doctors oldest foes will be back this this year, though...
