Review by JoshB
Boss Borot was created out of spare parts by some of Dr. Yumi's assistants. He has no weapons of any kind, and gets beat down almost every
time he rushes into battle. So why do we love Boss Borot so?
He's got heart.
The Soul of Chogokin captures the essence of Boss Borot perfectly. The interchangeable
heads allow you to replicate his goofy expressions. A magnet in the body holds
the heads on, and a button on his back releases them. Boss also comes with
a display stand, and 2 sets of hands - open and closed.
Boss' arms are the same type of flexible arm used on the GX-06 Getter
Robo Set. They flex perfectly, but the little moveable yellow parts have a
tendency to become dislodged with play. The arms connect to the shoulders via
magnets. The sockets are the same size used by other SOC, so you can mix and
match parts for more fun.
Boss Borot is full of metal. His entire torso and feet are made of Die-cast.
This is a "Soul"Â of Chogokin in every sense of the word.
Boss also includes a base to hold the extra hands and heads. The label needs
to be applied before displaying.
I love Boss Borot. I think he is one of the best in the Soul of Chogokin
line. His simplicity and clean lines harkens back to the days when you weren't
afraid to pick up a to and play with it.
Bandai is Re-releasing Boss Borot in August 2004.
