Excellent Reideen drawing Josh.
Hey Guys,
How about giving us some tips on taking good toy photos. My photos suck. Wish they were more like some of your reviewers. For example, how do you get the all white background? And how do you get your ceiling lights to not reflect on the toy. Might be a great segment for us followers.
You need something to break up the light hitting your subject.
Here's a place to start:

Some of us on the site use a light tent/box, which helps greatly with minimizing the reflection of lights and other objects on your subject. You can also shoot the subject with the camera as far away as possible ( if you have a good zoom lens), so that your camera does not show up in the shot either.
You can get a good white balance several ways. Using professional photo light bulbs is one way, as some camera's can be calibrated to the heat of these professional bulbs. You can use a white balance card either while shooting or when you process the photos afterwards ( in Adobe Lightroom or some other software). If you want to get a better white balance without spending any money on fancy equipment of software, you can always just mess around with the white balance settings on your camera, until you get a good white balance. Bear in mind that a perfect white background is hard to get in photos, so don't feel bad if you can't get it perfect.
Very much enjoyed the Yoda voice Josh!
