We have this small local carnival that comes through town twice a year, and the rides are all old and dilapidated. Among the Tilt-a-whirls and skill games was this cool old Grandizer ride.

It was made in Italy by a company called Zamperla, who is still in business today.

There are 8 cars - 4 helicopters and 4 Grandizer Spazers. There are 2 blue and 2 green Spazers, and each has seats for four children. The ride spins, and tilts up at an angle, but that's about it. I assume the lights on the back work, but I did not see it at night.

It's a pretty old ride, but not in terrible shape. The head sculpt of Grandizer is awesome. I would have loved to have seen this ride when it was new.

As a bonus, here is a Goldrake ride found at Funworld in Nashua, NH. These were taken last year, so my son is much older now. Note the liberties taken in Grandizer's face. Still it's cool that I found 2 Grandizer rides so close to my house. Makes you wonder how many more there are out there? If you see one, send me a report!
