9 comments postedTheir kits NEVER do it for me. And yet... SD GALEON IS SO CUTE!!!!!
I don't know what's with the sudden influx of GGG stuff, but I'm not gonna complain :D
OMG soooo cute! *squeee*
That humanoid mode for the GaLion, though, is a rare example of a FAIL SD conversion. O_o;
You leave GaiGar alone! It's not his fault that his creators made him sorta fugly so GaoGaiGar can be awesome. :P
Also, are you directly translating the Japanese? I've never seen the lion called 'GaLion'... I think even the eyecatch of the show called him Galeon. Semantics, I supposed, the pronounciation is probably the same in Japanese.
Did I spell it wrong? Sorry; guess I was thinking of "GaoLion". My bad. ^^;
Is GaoGaiGar simply the most-popular of the Brave Saga, or the most tolerable? I hear little about the others (and absolutely NOTHING about Faibird) that it makes me wonder...
(Ironically I have toys from only Faibird, but I can find nothing about it anywhere, even amongst Brave Saga fans, WTH.)
GaoGaiGar is unquestionably the most famous and probably the best of the Brave Series. I've seen all of Fighbird and Dagwon, and some of Goldoran, J-Decker and Might Gaine. None of them are BAD shows, they just... go through the motions, generally lacking in the sort of inspiration and love that made GGG so great.
Fighbird was amazing in how average it is. If you watched, say, Golion (NOT Voltron, GOLION!) and lived, Fighbird is a bit better. I'd like to give it a ringing endorsement but... sorry.
I plan to review my Faibird toys in the future for CDX, but for now I just want to know more about it simply because I had the DX Draias when I was little. And there's soooooo little info about Faibird online (compared to other Brave Saga) that it's difficult to gather any info on it!
Brave of the Sun Fighbird is about an intergalactic police force who comes to Earth to defend it from the dark forces of Drias and his minions. The aliens have no bodies, so they either have machines built for them or take over ours. our hero takes over a human-scale robot that belongs to an eccentric old man who beleives his technology is the key to world peace. He get's his wish when the alien merges the android with his ship, forming a giant super robot, Fighbird. Across the series, we follow Fighbird, the old man, and his grandson as they have rather typical action show problems and fish-out-of-water stories about an alien energy being wandering around in a body that LOOKS like a reasonably handsome young man.
More robots join up, like the Guardians who form... well... Guardian and later, Super Guardian. FighBird is lost for a while and replaced with GranBird until it's repaired and the alien can use BOTH to become Great FighBird. They win with guts and true love, of course.
That's... really about it.
