U.S.S. Enterprise (ST:TMP)
Review by AJProDie-Cast
Releases by Hotwheels this was one of a set of 1/50 Scale Star Trek Vehicles. This review is of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Refit (ST:TMP). It comes in a windowed box.
The ship with a small hole rests on a stand with a ball joint.
I bought it because it was on clearance and it said diecast, but it has only a one inch of metal where the stand meets the ship.
It has some ok details.
It has weak and uneven lines and is so much flimsy plastic, it was a waste of money.
I saw the set floating around various places and bought one and I regret buying it. It is smaller than the Corgi Enterprise and poor quality... I say pass no matter they are now under 10 dollars.

Chh- I coulda told you that, and I don't own one. ;)
so, cool how you listed out all your reviews under your profile....how did you do that?
Oh, thanks! I think I'm the only one who does that on CDX.
I just use the space dedicated to describing myself, and fill it up with whatever I want to! And since I know some entry-level html code, I can bold, italic, indent, make horizontal lines, and add links. Considering how many character there are in there, I guess that means the description doesn't have a limit on characters. Any word on that, Josh?
wow, I am impressed and it is cool.
Does it say "Scale 1:50" on the box? Just wow! Mattel is hugely optimistic...Better save the box, It will be valuable in a 100 years or so.
yeah box said it...I thought the same thing..maybe I should bury it during the CDX gathering and come back in 40 years...or Josh's kids can and get a "college" fund...lol
1:50?! Ha! That is way optimistic of Mattel. My Polar Lights 1/350 Enterprise's dish is 17inches across not to mention the rest of the ship when assembled! I believe the Micro machine version looks better than this!

"Micro Machines version"? LoL
You're right, though, the MM Star Trek vehicles (damn I wanted some of those!) were pretty well-detailed and -built for their size.
Micromachines was really carrying the torch for Star Wars and Star Trek at the time, kudos for keeping them in the public mind.
BTW Eva email me your address I picked up a couple of things for you when I was in Japan.
Cheers

Oh?
E-mail sent!
Thanks!
I saw better quality from Japanese trading toy's Enterprise.
