Silver Cloud
The JMBricklayer Silver Cloud 50102 is meant to be a 1964 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud Type III Convertible, but of course without the proper license it’s just “Silver Cloud”. It’s a nice kit that really captures the aesthetic of the classic vvehicle.
The kit has 1096 pieces and is meant for ages 14 and up. the assembly took me a few hours but was not a big challenge. I always find it very relaxing to build these kits, and in the end you have a cool model to display.
This car, when completed, comes in at about 12″ long, so it’s a substantial size.
The first thing you notice is all the glorious chrome. This kit feels like a luxury car with all the shiny bits. The tires are a nice rubber and the vehicle has a satisfying soft roll.
The front grill is quite opulent!
Even the tail pipe is chrome.
The hood opens in two parts, just like the real car. There is some engine detail inside, but I imagine it’s not accurate at all.
The interior detail is excellent. There are door levers, a steering wheel, even pedals on the floor.
Would you like a cola?
The back seat features fold down serving trays with beverages on them, and a center table with cash and food on it. This table holds a secret – it’s how you turn the front wheels! I don’t know why the steering mechanism isn’t connected to the steering wheel!
The trunk opens to reveal a spare tire.
Overall, it’s a fun set! If you want to get one, you can order directly from JMBricklayer or from their store on Amazon.com. Be sure to use the following coupons for extra discounts!
