Mr. Super Tool Set
So you are thinking you might want to take a shot at purchasing and building Gunpla for the first time but you do not know where to start. Maybe you are a long time Gunpla builder and you want to replace some of your worn out modeling tools.
Hobby Distributer Bluefin and model supply manufacturer Mr. Hobby have teamed up to create Mr. Super Tool Set, a set of high quality modeling tools for both beginners and advanced plastic modelers. What makes Mr. Super Tool Set great for beginners is that it includes tools they will need to assemble their first kit. Not exactly limited to Gunpla, this set is great for al types of model kits including airplanes, tanks and cars.
Mr. Super Tool Set has made it convenient for modelers to purchase the four most often used modeling tools in one package with the added bonus of a sturdy clear carrying case and a Gundam panel line marker.
Mr. Super Tool set includes: 1 Gundam Marker, 1x Metal file, 1x Tweezers, 1x Nipper, 1x Knife, 1 set of Replacement Blades.
Let go over some of these tools included and their usage:
The most important tool included in Mr. Super Tool Set is the Nipper, which is used to cut the parts cleanly off the sprue using a sharpen cutter. The Nipper is slightly smaller than my Mr. Hobby green handled Nipper but does not takeaway from the quality cut of the tool and good for modelers with smaller hands.
A sturdy modeling Knife and replacement blades are also included. The blade can be used to scrape down seam and molding lines.
The Metal File can be used to scrape down larger seams or help with wearing down edges for structural damage wear on tanks and Gundam kits.
Tweezers are great for placing and removing decals in water.
A Gundam Marker is also included for panel lining Gundam parts.
Finally all the parts are included within a sturdy clear plastic case with a side lock. Inside the case is a foam tray with slits cut across the face, I am not exactly sure what the slits are for but I believe they might be used to insert the tools in a straight up ready position.
About my only suggestion is I wish the case was a bit deeper so modelers could put a bottle of glue and other finishing products inside but overall as a strictly modeling tool carrier the case works fine.
I am impressed with Mr. Super Tool Set, a nice affordable set of modeling tools that are great for beginners and experienced modelers alike. Besides purchasing sanding sticks, glue and putty, beginners will have all they need to build their first model kit. Advanced modelers will be pleasantly surprised with the fine quality of the tools and having a second set of portable tools to take to group builds.
