Mospeada VR-025F

Scale: 1:20

I never quite understood this toy. I don’t know what market it serves. It’s a non-transforming toy of a motorcycle that transforms. It’s got a fixed-pose rider with no paint whatsoever. It’s out of scale with the other items listed on the box, and with other items in the series. It’s an anomaly amongst the already peculiar world of Gakken Mospeada toys.

The box is attractive enough, but not that large.

You can see the other diecast Mospeada riders on the back of the box, but those are not even remotely in scale. They are much, much smaller. This bike and rider are about 1/20 scale with the others in 1/35 scale. Regardless, all of these are somewhat hard to find.

The toy comes packed in a styrofoam tray with a sticker sheet and instructions. The stickers don’t add much, and they peel over time.

The bike and rider have a great sculpt, but I can’t get over what is essentially a giant eraser riding the bike. It makes no sense.

The bike is all plastic, with moveable wheels and kickstand. The wheels are rubber.

If you are a completist, it’s interesting to have, but on its own it doesn’t make a lot of sense as a toy.
