Hoist

Hoist is a remold / repaint of Trailbreaker, but it actually came out first.  It uses about 90% of the same body parts, but due to the use of mold color and paint apps it looks like an entirely different figure.

Differences here, aside from paint, are the head, the back tow section, and the weapon. It’s a nice homage to the G1 version, and the head sculpt has escaped the “humanization” that a lot of the Earthrise figures have been subjected to.

Overall it’s a solid figure, and despite it being essentially the same toy as Trailbreaker, I like this one so much more. The color scheme works great and the head is killer.

I don’t know how I feel about the weathering they added to figures in this line, but I think I would have preferred it without.

Vehicle mode still has the same flaw as Trailbreaker with a bunch of kibble underneath. But the tow attachment doubles as a platform that connects to the other platforms sprinkled about in the Earthrise line.
