Gigawatt is a 2020 release from the Transformers Collaborative line, crossing over Back to the Future with Transformers for the 35th anniversary of the Back to the Future movie.

This release is called Gigawatt, named after the unit of power needed to power the Time Machine.

The box has a nice retro feel, and the large window gives a full view of the toy in vehicle mode.

In car mode, you would never know this was a transformer. It’s got a ton of detail and accurately represents the old Delorean Time Machine. The overall build quality is much better than a similarly sized Generations toy, and it includes a lot more detail like the raised wiring and all the little greebels on the surface.

Close-up you can see the faint lines on the body panels from what I assume is the 3D printed prototype. They probably could have cleaned up this better. You only really notice it when you are up close.

Alternate parts are included to attach the long boom with the hook at the end (from the clocktower scene) or a Mr. Fusion reactor from the end of the first movie.

The toy can also replicate flying mode by turning in all four wheels. There’s a hole underside that can attach to a stand (sold separately) to simulate flying.

Transformation is reasonably simple, except for one part. The panel on the hood that has to turn around to reveal the flux capacitor is super hard to move. Make sure you push IN towards the robots face and you should have no problem.

Transformed, I like the Flux Capacitor on the chest, and I like that it has the time settings for the time machine. The robot has goggles for eyes like Doc wore, and there are even little Flux Capacitors on the knees.

The head hides a bit behind the chest panel, I wish the head could pop up a bit more

The gun that was stored underneath can fit in the hand, and the Mr Fusion can attach to the back of it. It can be weilded like a gun or a sword.

The pole can be use as a spear, or attached to the inside of the back gull wing doors.
