Droid Factory (D-0, R5-2JE, R6-LE5, R2-SHP)
D-O was a droid that was once owned by the Sith assassin Ochi of Bestoon.[5] The droid was created by a droidsmith, who was killed by Ochi.[2] The droid was reactivated by BB-8 in 35 ABY, on Pasaana, and later brought along to Kijimi, where he was further repaired by Rey.[3] An excitable little droid,[6] D-O befriended the Resistance droid, and wanted to be just like his droid friend.[6]
R2-SHP
Droid Factory is a line of droids available at Disney Parks and their online store. Back in the day, before Galaxy’s edge, they were available in the gift shop of Star Tours. There were just bins of droid parts, and you could mix and match parts to make yur own droids. You could even get a blister card with stickers to name your own droids.
That is gone now, but the molds live on in pre-packaged droids and droid sets, available exclusively at the parks and in their online store. They feel just like Hasbro toys, but they are not marked Hasbro anywhere, just Disney.
This particular Droid Factory set was released just prior to Rise of Skywalker, and contains four droids from the movie, three of them are only visible if you freeze frame and maginfy the video screen, so they are pretty obscure.
Included are D-0, R5-2JE, R6-LE5, R2-SHP
R5-2JE is of course a pretty standard R5 unit, with a similar coloring to the classic R5-D4. Wookieepedia describes him as thus:
“R5-2JE, also known as “Toojay,” was an R5 series astromech droid that served as the head of the droid pool for the forest landing area in the Resistance base on the moon Ajan Kloss. The droid also filled out shipboard astromech duties, and used a restraining bolt that had been modified into a command signal bolt that allowed R5-2JE to send commands and work orders to similarly equipped Resistance droids from a distance”
Each Droid Factory R-unit features a removable head, legs, and center leg. Under the dome is some nice mechanical detail that is sadly unpainted.
R6-LE5 has a cool blue coloring with a slight metallic wash. Being an R6 he has the tapered head dome that is slightly different than an R5 unit.
“R6-LE5, also known as “Leefive,” was a feminine R6 astromech droid that served voluntarily in the Resistance in its base on the moon Ajan Kloss. During the war between the Resistance and the First Order, R6-LE5 and her counterpart R2-SHP carried out routine maintenance on the CR90 corvette Tantive IV while it was used as the base’s command hub. In 35 ABY, R6-LE5 attended a meeting at the base where Generals Poe Dameron and Finn laid out their plan for the Battle of Exegol.” (Wookiepedia)
Interesting that they have feminine and masculine R unit astromechs. Never knew that.
All the Droid Factory R-units have holes in the head as well – this was for when they had accessories like hats in the old Droid Factory bins.
R2-SHP is the companion droid to R6-LE5, and is a pretty typical R2 unit with matching color.
“The R2-series astromech droid R2-SHP, also known as “Shep,” served the Resistance with his counterpart R6-LE5 during the war against the First Order. The pair performed routine maintenance on the CR90 corvette Tantive IV while it was in the Resistance base on the moon Ajan Kloss. He was among those in the base who mourned the death of General Leia Organa in 35 ABY.” (Wookieepedia)
And then there is D-0 – the cute little droid designed to sell toys, but was attached to the shittiest movie in the franchise. I would have taken D-0 over BB-8 any day, but alas, he was wasted.

This is a tiny toy, just about an inch tall. A clear stand is included, and there are points of articulation at the hub of the wheel, and the head. The platform and arm are a little warped.
