Don Hakka
Don Hakka is a chunky boy. Fat guys were always the butt of jokes in Japanese cartoons – look at Foul Tip in Starvengers or Boss from Mazinger Z. Don here is no exception. To add insult to injuty, in Spaceketters, his name was Porkos, a play on Porthos from Three Musketeers. He even oinked.
This is a serious hunk of gokin. The box features a nice painted prototype that differs from the actual toy. For example, ball and chain weapon uses an actual chain on the box art, but is a solid piece of plastic in reality.
Inside you get a nice styrofoam tray, catalog, instructions, missiles, gun and spiked ball weapon.
This one’s in good shape aside from the rub on the front of the belly missile launcher. This is common due to it rubbing against the styrofoam over the years. He’s a big heavy chunk of metal, with diecast chest, upper arms and upper legs.
Theres articulation at the head, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Movement is tight and limited – it’s best not to press your luck. Old plastic gets fragile.
Big green missiles go into the holes in the chest, but only the top one fires. You are supposed to be able to rotate the dial to put a new missile in the chamber, but mine is SUPER TIGHT.
The pistol can shoot the red missiles.
The ball and chain weapon. This weapon is frequently broken, so be careful.
Finally there is missile storage in the feet.
