The Cyberskulls of Atogen

The Cyberskulls of Atogen is another release in the Mutant Gangland series of paper toys. The series is created by Toppy Noppy toys out of the Netherlands.

I have to apologize to Thomas – The whole CDX fiasco that is going on has put a damper on reviewing toys, so this got pushed aside. So I am taking a break on that other stuff to catch up on some reviews this week.

This is a papercraft toy. It ships flat in an envelope that contains cardboard toys that you have to assemble. Unlike thier previous release, this one does not require any glue.

Inside, you get 4 Cyberskulls and a booket – Elcos Journal. The Journal tells a bit about the land of Atogen, but does not make clear what the Cyberskulls are, other than strange, powerful objects that Elcos hopes to encounter.

Each skull is simple to put together. There are four skulls and two figures, plus a few small accessories. The skulls rest on an angle, like they are just the heads of a buried giant robot. I am unsure if this is the case, but I like to think it is.

Fenerax

Fenerax is the largest of the Cyberskulls. The skull heads are actually on the corner of the cube, not on the flat face.

Each Cyberskull is slightly smaller than the other so they can actually nest into each other.

The set works great with the Thundermoar tank.

This is a step up from the Thundermoar tank, in my opinion. While I enjoyed the tank, I like that this set does not need glue. I also really apprecuated the journal to give some backstory into the world. I think its a great model – each release is a toy, and also the next part of a story.
