Coffee House is another “Not Lego” building set from JMBricklayer. It’s a Coffee House with 1512 pieces and a light up gimmick. I enjoyed this build but it took me a bit longer than ususal I think. Watch the video for the full review, but first, a few obeservations.

1. What even does this mean? This seemed like an extra bag of white bricks. Hardly any were used in the build, and I think the ones I did use were for a bit of customizing.

2. The parts are in numbered baggies, but there are several labeled 1, 2 and 3 – each relates to a building stage shown in the instructions. I thought this set omitted the parts tool, but I eventually found it in one of the #3 baggies. This should have come in the #1 baggie.

3. While it is called Coffee House on the box, the set itself has signs on it that say “Coffe Home”. This is probably a mistranslation, but it’s going to bother some.

And if you look close at the signs on the windows:

4. The light up feature is an afterthought – I kept waiting for the instructions to show me where the light up brick would go, but at the end, the instructions basically say “figure it out yourself”. I did.

Overalll the build was fine, however there were a LOT of windows that needed assembly, and they did not pop in easily. I did appreciate the SNOT assembly (Studs Not On Top).

When I was done, these were all the parts left over. It feels like a lot, and makes me think I missed something.

Coffee House

Here’s the finished product. It’s a nice build with lots of little details. The whole thing opens on a hinge to see the inside.

There are no clear panels in this roof section (by design). The whole section just lifts right off to see the intricate details inside.

Coffee House

Theres a lot of great plant detail. I like how it wraps around the building. the flower stand can rotate.

Coffee House

Crap, I missed a brick to the right of the window.

The front door opens

Inside is everything you could need for a Coffeee Shop. There is a lot of nice detail with a blender, coffee machine, pastries, milk, cash register and even a sink!

Coffee House

I love the little record player! The disc turns and the arm moves. There are even extra records included.

Coffee House

When you open the set you get access to the other side which features additional seating, artwork and more greenery.

Coffee House

The top for the other side is designed to be removable to get better access to the counter.

This roof section is removable as well.

The light up feature is essentially a 2×4 brick with string lights coming out of it. I just strung it around and secured it a few places with the extra white bricks I had. The result is amazing!
