Big Special Work Vehicle

I do love these Tomica vehicles, and this one hits a few of my weak spots! Its a robotic contsruction vehicle with drill and shovel arms, that also combines with other vehicles. This one was super cheap on Yahoo Japan, so I had to grab it. Little did I know what a pain the companion piece would be to get.

Hyper Builder No. 2 Big Special Work Vehicle (ハイパービルダー2号大型特殊作業車) is part of the Hyper Builder series of Tomica Hyper vehicles. There’s also Hyper Police (Blue) Hyper Rescue (Red) and Hyper Cargo (Green).

Note that this set does NOT include any Tomica vehicles or pilots.

This thing is basically a large construction vehicle with moveable arms that can split apart and combine with the No 1. vehicle (reviewed separately).

Stickers need to be added, and there are a lot of them. But this came out 10 years ago in 2012, and the stickers have lost a bit of their stickiness, so if you get one you might want to consider adding some adhesive to help them stick.

Each cockpit opens to fit a little Tomica guy, which is not included. If you start collecting this line you will end up with a lot of these guys lying around.

There are connection points like this on the back, top and front – these are pretty standard Tomica connection points so you can combine this vehicle with many others across the line.

The vehicle rolls on these faux wheels, sadly the tank treads do not move.

You can move the crane arms to the back. Each arm rotates and bends in three places.

If you push the red buttons that look like lights, the doors on the side swing open and launch Tomica vehicles.

If that wasn’t enough, the entire thing splits into two vehicles!
