God of Iron Imperizer

Review by JoshB
This monster appeared in the 29th, 30th, 48th and 49th story of Ultraman Mebius. I picked him up at Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara, largely because I was there. There is something really satisfying about buying a new, retail Japanese toy, in a toy section of a Japanese toy store - So much more so than the actual toy itself.
That's not to say that Imperizer is a bad toy, it's just standard fare for these ultra kaiju soft vinyls.
the head reminds me of a VOTOMS Scopedog a bit, with it's tri-lens eye. The eye rotates, the arms move at the elbows, and the waist turns.
Imperizer is made of silver metallic soft vinyl with black, red, and gold paint application. He also comes with a card for use with the DATA CARDASS video game system.
Cheap and cool looking.

That's just the dealer taking his cut, though. In Japan,at the real store, this guy was like 6 bucks.
I know- damn, that's the reason these figures are so damn addictive! It's just that's a really, really damn inflated price, wouldn't you agree?
Keep in mind that I've never been an import toy dealer, nor do I personally know any,but yeah I'd say that's a pretty steep markup.
Especially when you're talking about a random Ultraman villian. I might order (and in fact I have ordered) figures of the iconic guys like Baltan or Eleking, but I'm not about to do it for every rubber suited shmuck that walks down the pike.
If I lived in Japan, though,I'd be swimming in these things.
Totally reminds me of Big Daddy from the video game Bio Shock

I was thinking the same thing. I dig the design a lot. I wouldn't mind having one on my shelf--if I could get it for only six dollars.
Josh has started leaving the tags on these things. That's how it all begins...
Only to shoot the pictures my friend...

I hope so for your sake. After two decades of gradually becoming more and more obsessed with sofubi, the only way I can enjoy my collection all at once is to dump the contents in a pile and swim around in it.
