Acrodita

Review by JoshB
AcroDita's full name is Microman Acroyear Lady - AL-12 AcroDita, and she is part of the Microman 2004 line. She was part of a series of Microman that were imported to the USA by Diamond Comics Distributors in 2004. From the official Diamond press release:
Imported from Japan! The legendary Micronauts/Microman figure line from Takara continues with this new female line for 2004! Figures introduced in this series include: Acroyear ladies Acrodita and Acrovena and Microman women Commander and Ninja. Each figure:
- stands 4" tall
- features an amazing 30 points of articulation
- comes with chrome parts, weapons, and accessories
- include five variant hands
- comes in original Japanese blister card packaging
AcroDita is molded in a translucent amber plastic with burgundy paint highlights. All of her weapons, as well as her head, are chrome plated. The weapons are modular, meaning you can attach a sai, spiked ball, or blade to the end of the staff, or use them separately. Her back armor has a clip that can hold weapons when not in use. She also features my favorite toy accessory - chains.
I never really collected Microman, mainly because I found it so hard to display them. Well, AcroDita solves that by coming with a translucent base that you can attach the figure to. Apparently all the recent Microman toys come with these.
While the armor looks really cool, it is kind of awkward and tends to fall off when AcroDita is being handled. The chest plate tends to fall off the most. You have to remove some body parts to apply some armor parts.
Overall, very cool, and a great gateway figure if you were thinking about getting into Microman.
