Daiapollon

Review by JoshB
Although being in high demand among vintage collectors, I've never liked the design of Dai Apollon. Something about the hybrid of a football player and giant robot never worked for me. Even the toys, while brimming with funk, are kind of fugly.
And then Josh F brings this thing over.
Why, why does he do this to me?
This thing is beautiful. Words and still images do not do it justice, so here is some video:
The box is stunning and in pristine condition. You just don't see tin boxes like this.
The toy itself features a smooth tin body with stunning lithography. The wind-up action is intact and works beautifully.
This tin is special because of the soft vinyl shroud over the top of it. Removing it reveals the face of Dai Apollon in a simpler form.
Dai Apollon is a truely wonderful tin. It's a work of art.

What a beautiful piece! And that Box! I'm not the type that gets hung up on packaging but Geez....that box is Flawless BEAUTIFUL!!! It must be near impossible to locate a box that clean & sharp with the age it is, in light of how they packaged the toy inside.

is it c10?
Oh you just wait...my best tin boxes have yet to be seen. I got one mint tin box last week that you could both use as the mirror and the razor to shave with.
Minty fresh goodness.
I dont have any vintage, but I do love to see it when others have them. Very nice piece. These are great shots, and that box art is bonkers.
I remember watching the US version a few years back on VHS. I stumbled across it in an old mom and pop movie store.
