Robotech/Macross: Toynami recently released three 1/100 fully transformable valkyries from the Macross movie "Do You Remember Love". Soon to follow are three more versions with the designs from the Macross TV series, as well as add-on packs. This means you can buy the valkyrie and then choose if you want a fast pack, or super valkyrie pack (shown in the right of the first image) later without having to buy a whole new valkyrie because the accessories are only sold as pack-ins. THANK YOU TOYNAMI! The additional accessory packs will retail for $12.95. Not a bad idea at all. In other Macross news, Toynami is producing a Hikaru pilot figure with a cloth pilot suit. Robotech/Mospeada: More Masterpiece additions are forth coming (no sample on display) and it's not what you may think. Sure we've all been waiting for the transformable Beta Masterpiece that we saw last year at SDCC, but that's a story for later. I spoke with Toynami President George Sohn who stated that fully transformable cyclones are planned for the Masterpiece line. As far as the Beta Fighter it may not see the light of day as a transformable masterpiece, but thoughts are being bandied around as to how Toynami can get a Beta Fighter in some form in the hands of fans that clamor for it. One possibility was a resin statue on a stand that would link with their Masterpiece Alpha Fighter.
