I used to be such a comics nerd, but I am kind of glad my love of comics has not become a part of my toy collecting. There's a lot going on with Marvel and Hasbro and it can be pretty daunting to keep track of it all.
Spider Man
The Spectacular Spider-Man continues it's kid-oriented line but has some cool designs. Venom looks really great, maybe the first time I've ever liked the character. This line is for the young ones, for sure. Bonus points for naming a toy Spidey "ooze play".
Superhero Squad
Another line that I just don't get, but Hasbro keeps pumping them out and people keep buying them. This year they have a vehicle, and supposedly an animated series. God help us all.
Marvel Crossovers
Once again - why? it seems so misguided. The Captain America Jeep looks ok, and I am mildly intrigued on the combining spidey Jet.. but otherwise... meh.
Marvel Universe
Now, THIS is a line I can get excited about. 3 3/4 scale renditions of a wide assortment of Marvel Universe Characters. There will be some upcoming special packs of these, like the Gigantic Battles 2 pack featuring one Giant character and one standard character. Also revealed will be SECRET WARS Comic Packs, and an Invaders 4-pack. Awesome.
Comic-Con exclusive will be a black and white Captain America.
6" Legends line is not dead.
Mighty Muggs continues with a cool Deadpool, and a Spidey with Cloth Goods mask. Wolverine Mighty Mugg will be a Comic-Con exclusive.
Iron Man continues with its Hall of Armor figures but also introduces an Animated Series. Yes, another one. The Mandarin looks awesome. Tony Stark as a kid, not so much.
Yeah, that's punisher armor.
Wolverine Movie trailer looked great, but most toys were versions or wolverine or adversaries not seen in the movie. Figures looked alright, especially with wolvie in his Weapon X Tank.
Also, figures from Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon.
