Zoids Masterpiece Shield Liger

TakaraTomy is creating a "high end model series" based on their popular Zoids franchise. They are starting off with Shield Liger, designated MPZ-01. This figure will be 1/72nd scale. The Masterpiece Shield Liger is a buildable model that is essentially a modernized remake of the original kit. One built, it is capable of walking like a real feline predator and even moves its head around as it roars. It also has all the popular features of the design including an opening cockpit, removable armor, a back-mounted turret, and working shield panels. The kit also comes with a display stand. Coming October 2015 for 12,000 yen.

I wonder how different this

I wonder how different this will be from the Yamato version. That one was great.

It's hard to say based on how

It's hard to say based on how little info there is, but when it says model, I think they might actually mean that it needs to be assembled. The blurb says that it's motorized, so I imagine this is going to be a masterpiece version of the original 80's kit.

Interesting...

Call me when they finally make a poseable Murasame Liger.

Although, despite already having the Kotobukiya Liger Zero, if they make one in this line, I'll probably get it.
