12 comments postedOn one hand, I've been waiting years for this figure. Big O is one of my favorite anime and super robot designs. Not only that, but this looks like one of the greatest chogokin ever. However, that price is just so immense that I cannot think of a way to possibly justify it. I really want to buy this figure, but Max Factory needs to show me some more reasons to do so. I hope that this can potentially become like that Macross figure, an expensive figure that it the ultimate figure for the fans. Real Robot people got that SDF Macross so maybe this could be the Super Robot equivalent. I'm not expecting this thing to sing and dance, but for that price, it sure as hell better do something. Also, they had prototypes of Big Duo and Big Fau. That's potentially 1200 dollars gone and I must have them T_T
Nearly 500 bucks!? OUCH! I did see some light-up action, but it's gonna take more than fancy gimmicks and metallic-finish to really make me wanting.
It does your laundry as well.
I'd work an extra hour at the salon for this one.
I can't afford this.
My only recourse is to turn to thievery.
...would anyone like to buy the Brooklyn Bridge?
I'm not too worried about it. The price is going to be very off-putting to everyone, and considering that Big O isn't nearly as popular in Japan as it is in America, I bet we'll see this thing going for 60% off at HLJ a year from now. And I shall snag one and it shall be glorious.
Big as an old skool DX bot.
Hopefully will come packed as expected in a nice big DX box with squeakyfoam tray. As close as we'll likely get to having a more modern robot released the way the oldies were.
Love the finish.
Would be cool if there's a tiny opeining cockpit after the collarbone lifts up.
Nice figure but has anybody heard about the rumors that the Good Smile Company (which distributes Maxfactory figures) is telling online store like Amiami to not sell their goods outside of Japan? Or else they will no longer do business with them. Seems to me that if these rumors are true the GSC is looking to set up their own distribution network outside of Japan and don't want anyone else cutting into their profits. Although I can't see how they will keep track of who sells what to whom if they want their products not to be sold outside of Japan.
If you look at the product page for it on AmiAmi, it actually says that it isn't supposed to be sold outside of Japan, but I talked to them and it sounds like they will still sell it to us. Four hundred dollar price tag, not a well liked series in Japan, and trying not to sell to anyone outside of Japan? It's like they don't want people to buy their product.
Jeez... it's been 6-7yrs since I first stumbled across these (http://www.paradigm-city.com/forums/thread/11283.html). I'm glad Big O finally will be produced.... even though I've no idea how I'll afford it. I really hope this means Big Duo and Big Fau will be released in the not too far off future.
They are making a Big Duo and Big Fau as vinyls, in-scale to this gokin.
No worries guys. Big O is being sold here is the US and it will be at suggested Jpanese Yen price-maybe even a tad bit lower...hint, hint.
