Bandai "Mega Size" 1/48 RX-78-2 Gundam

Bandai introduces its new model kit line, "Mega Size" in 1/48 scale. Why not? 1/48 is a popular scale I guess. 8,190yen, due April 2010.

Man, it's so cheap... I will probably end up picking this guy up. Looks great, and intuitively engineered to make it easy for modelers, without an overly complicated complete skeleton! Like to see this line expanded beyond Gundam and a Zaku... gimme a GM and some 08 MS Team stuff... or a huge Zephyranthes!

It's basically a giant HG kit. Once you remove a lot of the internal frame stuff the price drops a lot. Like the 1/60 HG Exia Gundam I reviewed is only 5000 yen.

A Gundam's 18 meters tall, so 18/48=.375m or 37.5cm...or about 15 inches.
