While building plain old replica ships is fine, building haunted pirate ships is my jam. This ship looks super spooky and uses some interesting build techniques. Check out the video below to see the build in action.
The ship measures 16 inches from bow to stern and 12 inches to the top of the tallest mast. It features cloth sails, 9 LED lights and glow in the dark decals.
There are lots of tiny pieces in this build that give the impression of moss hanging from the ship. There are some very intricate areas, like the bow section of the boat, that are prone to falling off if you bump them. The bottom of the bow is only held on with one stud, so be careful with it.
The helm has a lot of detail in there, with a moving wheel and 6 light up LED lamps. The ship is NOT in Minifig scale, but you could totally put one at the helm.
There are some fun chains at the bow of the boat.
The sails are fabric, and are a mix of full sails with printing and half-torn sails. The print is not as vibrant as shown on the box, but it's fine.
Non-illumated lanterns hang fom the masts.
This dish of fire lights up when plugged in!
All of the LED wires are stuffed in the back and a singular wire stays out to plug into a USB power source (not included).
LIGHT IT UP!
This model lights up like crazy. It looks so good illuminated.
Two sets of stickers are included - regular and GLOW IN THE DARK. Why would you NOT use the glow stickers? They look amazing!
This ship would be amazing in anyone's Halloween display, or just anyone who likes spooky stuff! The lighting kit takes this to the next level.
