This one was a fun one to break down as it's definitely a piece with its highs and lows. The review goes into good depth but overall I'd say it's a solid piece and good buy but not likely to be the last SideSwipe figure you'll purchase even if a better one is years out. Here are some pics from the gallery portion:
Finally, BADCUBE represents this character the way he was meant to be represented. Is it the figure for you though?
Anthony Brucale, creator of TFU.INFO and a contributor to the Transformers episode of The Toys That Made Us, has interviewed TTTMU creator Brian Volk-Weiss for his TFU News and Views podcast! Anthony and Brian talk about the series as a whole as well as the specifics of the Transformers episode from the recently-released Season 2! Most notably, the original cut of the episode was double the running time of the final cut (if not more!) and featured an 8-9 minute segment on Beast Wars. Also, Volk-Weiss gave the time and place to learn about the specifics of season 3. Keep reading for more details and a link to the full show!

Twitter user @RYO has shared images of part of this month's Figure King magazine, specifically a feature on MP-43 Megatron. This gives us a lot more insight on the upcoming Masterpieve figure of Beast Wars Megatron, not least of which is the accessories that will come with it. Some of it appears to be support parts to use with MP Dinobot's stand in order to pose Megatron lifting Dinobot by the head. But in terms of regular accessories, we now know that besides the energy blast effect we'd seen already, plus two option faces, Megatron will come with a rifle, as seen in the episode "Call of The Wild", and yes, a toothbrush for the dinosaur head! Sadly no sign of a rubber duck or the Alien Disk, but we'll still count this as a victory. Keep reading to see the pictures, and find out why there's an inset with most of Megatron's beast mode parts removed.

Viacom's blog posted a feature recently about the first trailer for the upcoming Bumblebee movie. The blog post retells and summarizes the events shown in the trailer, and unfortunately while it alludes to a Decepticon - most probably the seeker-ish jet featured in the trailer - it does not officially go on record as to whether that actually is Starscream, as the popular speculation holds. It seems the studio isn't quite ready yet to officially say "Starscream is in our movie" or not. But the article itself is worth a read, even with the usual promo speak, including the ever-popular soundbyte about going back to the roots of the Transformers. Find out more details and get a link back to the blog below!
First of all, we want to thank you for the great response this year to our call for nominees in the two Transformers Hall of Fame categories. You provided us with some interesting and unexpected choices - we love that! Nominations are now closed, and we've collected the top responses for each heading, coming up with five finalists each for Favorite Transformers Character, and for Toy of The Year 2018. On the subject of which, we want to give an honorable mention to Power of The Primes Battletrap, who despite being an understandably popular toy this year, had to be left off the ballot for actually being two separate retail products. We know, we know. It makes us sad too. Now, from here until the night of Wednesday June 27th, you can vote in our two polls, and the top three entrants from each will be forwarded to Hasbro, who will conduct the final polling to decide the ultimate winner for each category. So, from the group of ten we now have, pick your favorites, and let your votes be counted - it's all up to
Australian news site nine.com.au reports that the Australian branch of ToysRUs will be closing all stores, putting upwards of 700 people out of work. All potential buyers for the 44 stores have withdrawn their offers. It's not exactly a surprise after the recent no-refunds cancellation of Masterpiece Shadow Panther preorders, but it's still a pity to lose another outlet for action figures. Keep reading for more details.
It's the most promotional time of the year... io9 has posted a report on what movies are expected to attend this year's Comic-Con International, AKA San Diego Comic-Con. Paramount's slate is not explicitly known, but io9 predicts - we expect rather safely! - that Bumblebee will be the headliner of their promotional area. Keep reading for an excerpt, along with a link to the full article!
Gizmodo has broken the news this afternoon of an upcoming miniseries crossover project from IDW. This September Star Trek vs Transformers will debut as a four issue miniseries, seeing G1-style Transformers characters meeting the crew of the Kirk-era Enterprise. Specifically, the Star Trek: The Animated Series version! John Barber and Mike Johnson are credited as the creative team on this, with Philip Murphy and Leonardo Ito providing interior lineart and colors, respectively. The two sample cover images in the article show a very good blending of visual styles between the Transformers and Star Trek characters, highlighting the brilliant choice to use The Animated Series as the particular Star Trek backdrop for this story. Find more information and the sample art just below.
