Renato returns to the podcast to talk about the history of this legendary toy.

This is the prototype for the Takatoku Battroid Valkyrie VF-1J. At first it was called the Valkyrie DX. Most fans refer to it as the 1/55th scale VF-1. Some may remember it as the toy that became Autobot Jetfire.

Here are some resources courtesy of Macrossworld and Macross Tamashii.

I would like to thank Renato again for being on the show and translating all these old interviews.

Renato posted this over at Macrossworld’s new main page (clear your cache if you can’t see it.) He included the sources for all of the information in this show.

“I believe a great deal of this information is new to English-speakers, since a lot of it is taken from the following Japanese sources: Figure Oh #130, #77 and #134; Model Graphix #318, and Shoji Kawamori Macross Design Works.”

Everyone show your appreciation for him and his accent.
