NYCC 2015: Nsurgo, 1000Toys, Union Creative, Goodsmile, Sentinel Co Ltd. Toys
Hey CDXers, Prometheum5 here with some coverage of my time at New York Comic Con 2015! Next up are a couple cool displays: Nsurgo, 1000Toys, Union Creative, and Sentinel Co. Ltd Toys!
Nsurgo is a licensing and distribution shop for Japanese imports, and this year they had some really great stuff on display. In one case they had a whole lineup of all the 1000Toys Toa Heavy Indsutries Synthetic Human releases to date. I have just about all of them, but it still kills me to see that SDCC Test Type Body in the case. My first stop of the day was to get the NYCC Close Combat Body exclusive, with the white hoodie. Also on display was a teaser bust of 1000Toys' new 1/6 scale Jomon Kuguto figure, designed by artist Takeya Takayuki. Apparently a sample of 1000Toys' other new toy, the IZMOJUKI mecha, was supposed to be on display, but it sounds like the sample was damaged before the show.
The Nsurgo booth also had some statues and trading figures from Batman and Street Fighter, but the most exciting thing was the Union Creative Venom Snake Sneaking Suit ver. from Metal Gear Solid V: Peacewalker. This figure is built using Revoltech joints and stands 6" tall, similar to the previous Revoltech MGS: Ground Zeroes Big Boss. The sculpt on this guy was so sharp and detailed, I can't wait for it to be released!
Goodsmile
The Goodsmile booth was popping off, as usual, with toys from lots of different licenses on display. There were figmas and Nendos, some kind of dollhouse display thing, and the obligatory girly statues. The Metal Gear Solid Nendos look great. There was a Venom Snake Nendo on display that comes with a Fulton Recovery System accessory to retrieve your other figures from the battlefield and recruit them to your cause.
Also on display as the new figma of Makoto Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell. I guess there's a new movie coming out, so we obviously need a new figure! The face doesn't quite look like Kusanagi usually does to me, but the figure looks great overall.
There was also a lot of this kind of thing, if that's your jam...
Sentinel Co Ltd. Toys
I didn't actually catch what booth these new Sentinel releases were being shown at, but damned if I'm not going to stop and take pics of some new Iron Man toys! There was a great spread of Sentinel products, including lots and lots of WeGos, Re:Edit Iron Man figures, the Armarauders Bellerophon, and their Dancougar transforming toy. Everything looked great, as Sentinel stuff does. I have been loving the Re:Edit Iron Man line, so it was nice to see them on display. They even had the exclusive Iron Patriot version, and the upcoming Warmachine. Personally, I'm holding out for the Hulkbuster, which ships in December.
