Ugh. I wish Hasbro or Bandai had the Voltron license. Those problems wouldn't exist. Mattel is one of the worst toy companies I've delt with. They really don't care about their fans. Or quality control.

Well I hope Bandai makes an SOC GoLion. They seem to be making their way through all of the bots that had classic DX's lately, so I'm guessing they'll get around to it eventually.

Hasbro is a better company than Mattel, but I'm almost certain (or as certain as one can be when purely speculating) that they would never make a 1/18 scale Voltron if they had the license, so I have to give Mattel props for that at least.

And if we're just talking about the American license, Bandai of America's toys are usually bad, so I don't really ever want them to have the license to anything I like unless my only choices are them and Jazwares. Mattel has some big QC problems from time to time, they've got price issues, they've got availability and distribution issues, and some of their lines are horribly lacking in accessories, but their toys, taken at face value, are generally good, and the only things they've made in recent memory that are actually bad enough to compare to BoA are DC Infinite Heroes.

But regardless, even though I just picked apart your post, I actually share and sympathize with your Mattel-related frustration. They're dicks.

I can agree with pretty much

I can agree with pretty much all of your points. I wasn't really thinking of BoA. I was thinking of Bandai of Japan with their SOC and SRC lines. I would pay money for a GoLion or Dairugger XV SRC. But yeah, I agree with you that most of Bandai of America's products are fairly bad, but they aren't as bad as Mattel's. When I see a figure, I look at every aspect (articulation, sculpt, accessories, etc.). BoA's 1:18 scale figures are actually really decent. They usually have ball joints and swivels where they need to be, and while their accessory count may be low, they come with enough to warrant their 6 dollar price tag. Just look at the Power Rangers and Thundercats lines. The Thundercats line is actually pretty awesome.
But Hasbro is probably my favorite American toy company. They know robots (TF's), and their 1:18 scale figures are absolutely stunning! Compared to Mattel's toys, it's almost like night and day. Mattel's 1:18 scale figures usually have about 5 points of articulation compared to Hasbro's 14. Mattel's 1:12 scale lines are arguably better, but still not as great as Hasbro's. Plus, they re-use molds more than anyone I've ever seen. And while Hasbro uses the same molds a lot, they accessorize way better than Mattel.

Well that turned into a rant. Sorry about that.

TL:DR I don't like Mattel.

Didn't Bandai show off a silhouette of an SOC Tryder G7 or did that turn out to be bogus?

I still want a big-scale,

I still want a big-scale, good quality transformable Voltron. That is one of many regrets I have from my childhood regarding my collection, and shame on me for not getting one. Masteripece or classic DX, I don't care which, I just want one that works well and looks good. (If it's all plastic and skips on die-cast, that's fine with me.)

Then you'll want the Trendmasters 18inch Voltron. Combining, well made, has chrome. Eyes light up on all the lions, figures are made to fit in each one (not included) and was only $60 back in 1999.

Its because you guys are well articulated, intelligent individuals oozing with sarcasm and cool commentary... keep it up PAUL & JOE!! LOL

p.s MATTEL sucks, I hope nobody buys their crap and they go bankrupt .... they're just making a living off our cherished memories with cheap product.

I don't think regular SOC

I don't think regular SOC will exactly go away, but I think it'll be regulated as a once to twice a year release that's generally of a large combiner type (Daiohja foe example).

Super Robot Chogokin?

Why is it Tamashii seems to not be showing some of the SRC figures they had in the past. Such as Dygenguar? Didn't they also showed a Cybaster once too right? Anyone know if these are still coming?

Mystic Foce

To add on to what Josh said about Power Rangers SPD. Power Rangers Mystic Force was an awesome one too.
