Agree about how he isn't the first Voyager you want to pick up. Got him from Hasbro and thought he would be good, but he doesn't do much, doesn't stand without arm support and is generally weak compared to Starscream, or even Ironhide, who is a remold from the first line.

I knew about the obvious

I knew about the obvious balance issue that would come, but not the bad elbows and hands. Seriously, aside for the arms, the coloring, and generally not being that close in details (the mass of his shoulders being behind the arms rather than above, robot kibble in vehicle mode), it's not a hopeless figure.

Wait- Ironhide (not Jungle) was remolded, beyond the new guns?

Nope, but as far as I can

Nope, but as far as I can tell replacing weapons also counts as remolding.

I'm mot saying he's hopeless, he is suitable for exposition, but I'm not sure if the kids, target audience, would fancy him a lot since he's not your typical transforming action figure.

Ehh... I supposed

Ehh... I supposed replacing weps counts as remolding.

Yeah- that and the fact that responsible parents wouldn't have taken their -13yrs kids to see it. It is a pretty wild idea despite his awesomeness.

BTW, when I went to see RotF in Digital IMAX, there were a bunch of kinds in the theater with their parents. Some screamed in action sequences (seriously, there was pretty brutal stuff in there). But, towards the end of the film, I noticed a little girl (4-5?) was just hanging onto a railing, looking bored as hell while her parents(?) watched on as Prime absolutely ripped it up. I truthfully didn't think that kid should have been there to begin with.

One thing that cracks me up... There was a young woman sitting a seat away next to me. She reacted in all the right places in the right ways. But, here it is- Alice has just thoroughly thrashed Sam around the room, and the three of them were wondering what the hell she was. So suddenly, Alice's face begins to transform... and the woman next to me- who had remained rather motionless the whole time- suddenly half-jumped into her boyfriend's lap! I tell ya, I wanted so badly to lean over and say, "Really? After everything we've seen up to this point, you're choosing to jump now???"
It's sad that that woman jumping like that was funnier to me than most of the sex/fart jokes in the film... how sad is that?

Honestly I have no idea if

Honestly I have no idea if anyone tried to fit simple weapon swap somewhere in the recolor/remold category, I wonder how will they classify Wingblade Prime who seems to be just a Battle Begins Prime with armour and no visible change in the main body.

The film was too brutal, too much swearing, too much confusing. And again too much humans. I generally think that this movie could be a lot better (not a fan of it) if they left out most of the human cast, fart/burp/slime jokes and the twins.

The girl definitely shouldn't be there. I mean, they did mark it PG-13 for a reason, so what was she doing there? Probably ignorant parent syndrome again, it's like with that lady that had no idea her McDonalds coffe was hot and sued the company.

Sad? Yes, that indicates the quality of the movie. But also good because it proves people have much higher standards than that :)

The only fart joke that I

The only fart joke that I truthfully laughed at was when Jetfire farted a drag chute... because the Blackbird actually used drag chutes [unlike the unreasonable wreaking balls on another 'bot in the film].

While the film's action was brutal, I thought it wasn't too unreasonable. We really only got a taste of bot-on-bot action in the first film, and surely not the standard style of combat to be expected on Cybertron.

Too much swearing, yes. Even the twins and Ironhide got in on it, which also [ticked] me off.

Confusing? Ehh... not really. I was able to follow it pretty well. If anything, the story in the first one was a bit slow and simple, but it needed to be because it was the origin film. It was less about being confusing, and more about keeping track of everything that was shot rapidly at you. I mean, I had to go online to double-check if The Fallen transformed into anything or not (he doesn't)!

As to too much humans, I will give credit where it's due and say that they definitely balanced out the percentage of bots-to-humans better in the second film VS the first's. If they cut down the runtime to 2hr flat for Bayformers-3, they could keep the same budget, cut out a lot more human stuff, and have the same quality of bots. After the questionable quality of Bayformers-2, they seriously need to lighten up a bit... or at least assure us that Sam isn't The One! (All the crap that happens to him in this film that he bounced back from quickly [ticked] me off to no end; just like the bicycle/Barricade sequence from the first movie.)

I'm with you on the tone of the film. Most of it was fine (like the first), but some things this time were definitely taken too far. Like, some things were unnecessary in the first film, but those same things were made simply made bigger this time around, which should not have happened. While I don't expect the films to be accessible to kids anymore (this is a grown-up 'verse they're making now), it just felt like a hodge-podge of stuff thrown together incoherently... a trademark of Michael Bay perhaps.

Movie-accurate Demolishor repaint spotted!

I was hoping that since the Japanese-exclusive releases often get additional paint details, a repaint of Demolishor might come about. My hopes have been answered!

TFormers.com just announced a more movie-accurate coloring for Demolishor in the article posted here. (enlarged image)

Keep in mind: this is not a remold, only a repaint, so it's the exact same toy as reviewed above.

...I may get it to replace the one I have now, if just to have that more-screen-accurate paint job. If I do, you will be hearing from me once again!

Forgotten price point

Hasbro and Takara don't like to make too many Leader-class figures per line, and sometimes some of the few they do make are given to the wrong characters (HI THERE DOTM LEADER-CLASS IRONHIDE) while the worthy are shafted.. And given how minor a character Demolishor was (bulk and power notwithstanding), I wouldn't say that he deserved a Leader-class figure.

But there's another price point, one HasTak somehow forgot about when it came to the movie and Animated toylines, and that you yourself overlooked in writing this:
Ultra-class.
Not as big as Leader, but bigger than Voyager. Ultra would have allowed room for more size and more complexity in the transformation (To be fair, Demolishor's complexity suffered from him being a Wave 1 ROTF figure - most new larger molds in that wave got dropped. Demolishor for instance was supposed to have actual separately-linked treads, possibly even able to roll. And who knows what else may have been ditched)
