Storm Warriors Sword & Blade Accessory Set
Review by AJProDie-Cast
Storm Riders, Storm Warriors is a series and a toy line of 12-inch Japanese-style warriors. Honestly, they are on various toy sites, but I have no clue about them at all. All I had was an idea, and while searching die-cast items, I came across this Storm Warriors Sword & Blade Accessory Set.
An idea came to me...I have all these 9 to 12-inch Chogokin, some with no cool weapons at all and some with cheap plastic swords that chip, or things not sharp and METAL. So, why not drop $60 and get this set! It came in an outer cardboard box:
With a hard plastic holding case.
The swords in two trays of high-grade black foam!
When I took the weapons out and felt their heft and totally cool design, I was like "who needs the numerous Storm Warriors?", why not let your Aoshima Terminator get all Snake Eye-ish:
Masterpiece Optimus Prime go Draconian:
Or even the Yamato Patlabor figure be all "crescenterrific":
Looks great! There are seven swords and one pike, all pure metal, but more importantly all unique and highly detailed.
Can you imagine your Fewture Getter 1 (Getter 3 needs something!)with one of these bad boys, or your Aoshima Mazinkaiser with not his crappy plastic swords, but a huge metal pike or Katana!! I did, which is why I bought this set.
If you love the series (never seen it or anything), or want some cool display options for your 9 to 12-inch Chogokin, you can still find this set around.

Are all those blades sharp?
jjust the tips..which of course would be,everything else is dull and safe:)
those are from a long running hongkong comic,i do have some earlier version of those sword and they do look cool with my gundam model kits...
There are several different gashapon box sets of 1:6 scale guns, swords, and armor that might work for what you're going for, 9-12 inch robots.
There's a very cool long-running gashapon set of samurai swords that are awesome, i forget the name of series, but you can find them pretty easily on HobbyLinkJapan. I bought a few sets onsale from HLJ about 3-4 years ago, one set was metal and both were high quality and very detailed. Katanas, flowers, a shamisen, too... but I lost all the boxes and forget the name...
if you ever see them just post a link, when I went to HLJ all the kits I saw said discontinued...but cool looking kits
I'm assuming he's talking about the Mononofu sets. I've got a bunch, and they are indeed great. But I don't see any for sale right now.
This weapon set is very tempting...
that's the name!
There's a lot on eBay right now, they're really cool.
For those into SOC or Transformers, there are tons of these types of sets out there, character specific, especially on Y!J. BBTS gets them too... Go for it!!
I love it when people accessorize, or add backdrops to their collection. It adds so much to your display with stuff like this. A masterpiece prime? eh. A masterpiece prime with a weird sword? excellent! Transformers Classics... eh. TF Classics with that awesome Ark base/backdrop? amazing!!!! A little paint, searching, and elbow grease can go a long way in making your shelf look dope. Take a look at the Star Wars fansites, those guys go all out. Once, I bought these little guitars for $5 at Graceland, that turned my static 1:6-scale figure collection from zeros to heroes in no time!
