Raideen Big Attack Set
Review by JoshB
The Raideen Big Attack Set features all the vehicles that came with the rare, big Mutropolis base by Popy. It's a near legendary set, and it's one of my holy grails. As I'll likely never be able to afford that set, this will have to do.
The box is beat, but still stunning.
Check out the diamonds on the sides, echoes of the leg patterns on the character.
Prototypes on the side differ from the toys included.
Graphics on the back show Popynica and Chogokin toys - also prototypes that differ from the regular releases.
The Sparker cycle has a soft vinyl Akira character, with a plastic body and rubber tires. The kickstand works.
The plastic on these is super cheap. It's no wonder that so few of them survived.
The Godbird (Raideen in bird attack mode) is a nice sculpt, but again, cheap. It's got metal wheels, and the wing stickers are deteriorating a bit.
The Spit Fighter is the small fighter that fits into the front of the Bluegar. It also has wheels on the bottom, and on the tip of the fan.
The fan does not turn.
The Bluegar has a detachable chrome Spit Fighter that was once held in place with an elastic band. The band has dried up, but remnants remain stuck underneath.
It's a fantastically rare set, and I'm lucky to have it.
