I have the one for Optimus Prime

I snagged one just as I was leaving BotCon and was so glad I did. My Prime is missing his weapons... and now he doesn't have to worry about that anymore. What really impresses me is the way the small details match. The silver lines match up in all modes so that they flow from the cab to the trailer, and the wheels look like they took apart a ton of Classic Optimi and reused their wheels. Not to mention, the color matching is ridiculously good.

Bruticus can't ship fast enough, I'm getting the Protector Armor as soon as TFSource has the pre-order up (have to get that new Target 3-Pack with Hot Rod), and I can't wait to see what the new Junkion and Broadside look like.

I'm so proud to own this one

I'm so proud to own this one. It really is the Magnus I hoped for when the first prototype pictures came online. My only grief is the waistpiece. I simply doesn't clip on tight enough to stay put. The slightest touch makes it fall off. I used one of those transparent elastic bands that come in transformer packaging to fix the problem. You can't even tell it is there.

Does anyone else have this problem, or is it just mine?

I thought I did but you

I thought I did but you really got to give it a good push to make it click. I did, and it stays on.

Gotta get them all.

I purchased all the sets but I found out later that my dark set was a KO. But even for a KO the quality was top notch. It is really hard to tell the difference unless you know what to look for. Now I won't pay the after market price for one that is now getting close to $200

Another burner was that I paid the money for the TFC set and later they came out with the Japanese set that IMO is a much better set due to the chrome parts. I really don't need energon cubes :)

Bottom line, these guys help keep my love for TFs going.

To Robonurse: Fansproject KO

Fansproject has taken notice of the problem w/ KOs of their work & has taken precautions of the situation. If you're currently interested in detecting it from the real thing in your next FP purchase, here's a link to their blog thread that visually explains everything.

Hope this helps everyone out.

Ahhh Fansproject... the only reason I still believe in Transformers.

Lets see. There was that

Lets see. There was that God Sword accessory that was made mostly for this. There was also that horrendous replacement head and energon flag. And then there's PE's Shadow Warrior. This armor set has spawned more third party upgrades than any other transformer toy if I'm not mistaken (except maybe g1 devastator?). And there's a reason. If you like any branch of vehicle transformers, you own this figure. Looks like you added reprolabels to yours.

I remember pre-ordering this from BBTS, losing my job and still not canceling. I lucked out and managed to find a used Ultra Magnus in a now defunct hobby shop. His only weakness is that ridiculous BFG, but that's really the only way to tie it all together and every part of the armor is so smooth and stylized you have to forgive it. Agreed, there's really no safe way to get his boots on and the strips of spring loaded plastic that hold his chest in place seem really fragile. I can't believe it's what, 2 years later and it just now got reviewed?

Hey Man

Better late than never. Right?

I agree about the BFG

I found that the BFG was this set's biggest weakness. But as I mentioned in my review, I find it hard to not like it considering it's a giant gun. I'm pleased to see that Fansporject's next offering, the Rodimus Protector set will be equal parts armor and missile/repair base. But if you own City Commander, the missile launchers and rifle are a must. It really completes the look.

(By the way, the Autobrands are not reprolabels, they're from a random Chinese company I found cheap on eBay)
