Capture of Bumblebee

Atom, I went back through

Atom, I went back through your own review of the standard Deluxe-class Concept Camaro Bumblebee and watched the video on YouTube. Many of the bad things you mentioned I did not encounter here. The yellow upper arm armor stays on, none of the paint peels, and I even tried to pull his waist joint apart with no results. However, I did also encounter the merging problem between the roof sections and the yellow trunk armor of the in vehicle mode; that seems to be a more common problem. (I suspect the blaster between the legs is just a hair too big...)

Sorry man, but I think you got the short end of the stick there.

I think that, yes, the Automorph in the upper torso is a bit finicky too. But, on the other hand, if you're careful the first time, don't force anything, and are patient enough to find the cause(s), you'll do just fine. I do agree with the shoulder design though, and how limited it can be because they bump right up against the yellow armor; I think they could've put an extra millimeter on that shaft with no ill effects. What I did encounter was rather loose ball-and-socket joints in his hips and head- I actually popped his head off the first time I transformed him! (I might have to try that clear nail polish-trick I just learned about on BB here...) On the other side of that, the ball-and-sockets for the wrists are incredibly tight.

As I said above, this really is a great toy; the S7 figures are just a nice bonus for that extra $5. But the main reason I got it was because the inner body coloring of gray closer matched what was seen on-screen... which I think the upcoming Premium line will also be doing (albeit with the visor down on BB). I love the realistic and highly-accurate molds, and how intricate the transformation is for a figure this size. So, I can see how it is that this is so popular now that I have him.

Question: So, on the regular Concept Camaro ver., are the transparent windows, eyes, and stinger blade that same shade of blue (turquoise?) or a darker blue?
[I know that the colors look a little off in these pictures (blame the paint on the walls for that!), but trust me, they're accurate.]

The windows are blue

The windows on the original are blue, typical "Autobot" Clear blue.

and I have to agree that alot of the 'errors' of BB are gone in this edition short of having his shoulder plates fall off. mine did but once back in they don't really fall out much any more. Glue can help.

Also did a fun bit of detailing with a Gundam Marker on his face. Really does some wonders.

Great Review Eva!

Also: Best John Turturro Action Figure!

Probably the only only action figure he has

"Also: Best John Turturro Action Figure!"

Probably the only only action figure he has of himself too, if you think about it.

It isn't the actor that I have the problem with by any means (don't think I've seen any of his other work yet), it's the character he portrays. A lot of people bagged on John Voigt's SecDef character for having only a reactionary role, but I say, "Under the circumstances, what could he do?". But I yell at Agent Simmons for being an unnecessary idiot in the world that the production team created. (Well... Bernie Mac's cameo was a close second.) I can tolerate the loose attitude 'n such right up until he puts that sensor to Sam in the house; at that point, I expected him to sober up, but he never did. Basically he thought he could hide behind his S7 badge to get away with being an incompetent moron, and after the house as he starts to loose control of the situation, you would expect someone of such high-rank and importance to have the brains to go along with.

Besides, Tuturro's hair is black in the film; this guy's isn't. Paint error?

So the turquoise is another Battle Scenes-exclusive change, eh? Thanks.

You're saying there's a

You're saying there's a figure coming out with the face visor down? That's badass if it's true.

Well, I think there's

Well, I think there's actually two of them. One is the Premium line, and I think the other is the Concept Camaro in the AllSpark Power line. The difference is, the AllSpark Power ver. is dressed in polar-oppisite color applications. So, everything- in vehicle mode, specifically- that is usually yellow is now black, and vise versa; however this swap does not apply to robot parts which retain their normal coloring. It also means that the AllSpark Power varient will have a gray interior like this Battle Scenes ver.

I think...
