So, did Tomy buy out the body design from Ohtsuka Kikaku?

I have one of their diecast bodies just like this one and it appears to be dead on the same. I saw this in a Darth Vader from a year or two back and though about Tomy buying the design then. Then again, maybe Ohtsuka Kikaku is just owned by Tomy?

Looks like a Die-cast Spiral Zone body

This looks like a die-cast Bandai Spiral Zone body. What scale is this? Is it 1/12 scale?

Quite funny even though its one of my favorite toylines ever all the issues I have with Spiral Zone figures are similar with the issues you are having with this figure.

Great review, I didn't know this existed.

Size

These are in scale to Mego figures, making them 8-inches in height roughly.

These are very similar to Spiral Zone and why I had an interest in them when they were released.

This was a great idea and I would have loved to buy these. I collected Mego pretty hard in the 90's and this was a mind-bending product: Star Wars, Mego scale? Tomy? Diecast? I had to get them, even if all my Megos were sold long ago...

But I passed, as yet again, manufacturers charged way too much for these and as you can see, it can't even stand up or hold together on the shelf!! What is the point of buying a toy at around $90, so it can sit in the box on your shelf? I just can't support products like this that are overpriced to begin with and non-functional out of the box.

It was also disappointing to see how different the figure looks from promo shots, and just how cheap looking the armor on Fett is, bulging out and making him neckless.

You can spend your $90 in a much, much better way, by saving your money for the Medicom Fett, or by using it for another diecast toy.

MINE!

I have not bought a action figure or PVC statue in years...since...oh my Todd McFarline craze I once was in. but, some how some way I found my way to this site for the first time, and read this review (helped that it was no the froth page) and something about the pictures, and review of this figure stood OUT to me. So I ddi a quick e-bay google of the figure and was please to find that it was going for $55 bucks (a few trying to get 2 to 3 times that :( grrr) but I went ahead and bought both this one and the Vader one as well (the Vader was going for $100 and up sigh)....

Once they come in the mail and I take them out of the box (yes this will possibly be the first figures in all my collecting since before I was a kid that I open) I'll be sure to add to this review with both figures. I went ahead honestly and bought duplicates of both figures to have one set in box and the ones I plan on actually displaying. If these go over as well as I hope they do I might start collecting Die Cast figures. Something about them being metal, hefty, and with durability that just feels so...so.....1970's ...... and not often made for the market any longer. For the most part you see things that are only in part die cast for weight issues, or balancing of a figure... but a solid pice? wow....

are there any other figures like this aside from the Star Wars Vader and Boba?

sorry for the page long comment..first time here and all
