Kamen Rider Scissors
Review by Ghost_XIII
Scissors might be one of the more forgettable Riders in the Kamen Rider Ryuki thus not many people want him and thus, he is an exclusive release but I don’t have the brown box of exclusiveness. Oh well....
The box is the usual box like the normal SHF which surprise me a bit as exclusive stuff mostly don’t have window on it. Maybe only SIC was treated that way.
Inside the box, everything is laid out on a single plastic tray. You will be getting:
-the main figure
-Guard vent
-Scissors’ Visor(I don’t know the official name)
-Strike vent
-holding things hands(left and right)
-action oriented splayed open right hand
-calm splayed open right hand
-another right holding things hand(I don’t know why this is included)
-right holding cards hand
-broken card deck
-4 cards(Strike, Advent, Guard, Final)
-this specialized stand for Scissors wrap in a plastic which I’m not gonna use since I have a stand already.
and of course, instruction manual.
To complete the figure, you need to equip him with his Visor.
Kicking things off, here is Scissors in all his plastic glory. If you don’t know, Scissors is themed after a crab. Honestly, I don’t dig his design but that has nothing to do with the toy. The toy itself is beautiful. I really like how the metallic orange contrasting against the matte black parts on the figure. Details are not as abundant as SIC but Scissors capture every bit of the suit details that I remembered from the show. Be very careful with the figure as don’t let him took a shelf dive. There’s quite a lot of pointy thin stuff on him and I’m not surprised if a shelf dive broke it.
In theme with other Ryuki’s Riders, the feet of Scissors are made out of diecast which gives quite a surprising weight to this small figure.
Articulation wise, Scissors is nothing new to shout about. You gonna get every bit of SHF articulation that you expect. You can refer to Knight(here[http://collectiondx.com/toy_review/2011/kamen_rider_knight_and_darkwing]) review which are done by SentaiSeiya.
An Ironman pose will help in proving my point.
Moving on to accessories, Scissors is included with his obligatory Visor. Threading a hand to hold the visor can be very annoying but the Visor attach solidly on Scissors’ forearm. It opens up too to reveal the card slot.
I also want to highlight the inclusion of this right hand which you can show him using The Force. Was this hand supposed to hold the card deck? Since I sold off my Scissors, I‘ll never know.
Scissors came with his own set of cards. They are very small and very losable. Be careful when using them to play. The card itself is a nice representation of the show’s counterpart although not very clear but again, they are insanely small.
Strike Vent
Advent
Guard Vent
Final Vent
The card can be used with the included cards holding hand which does a very nice job holding the card.
The default card deck on Scissor’s belt is removable and can be swapped out with the damaged card deck to represent, you know, some moment in Ryuki(go watch the series :p).
Next is the Guard vent. I really like how it looks with the metallic orange paintjob. To attach the Guard Vent, you need to remove the port on Scissors’ forearm and it should clip at the sides of the Visor.
Next is the Strike Vent. Just like Guard Vent, the metallic orange is deliciously applied on this part. The pincer can open and close. To attach this, you gonna need to remove any right hand Scissors is equipped with and the port on Scissors’ right forearm. Be VERY careful as you attach the Strike Vent as pushing it in can be a little hard and I’ve seen someone broken their Scissors’ elbow when doing so.
You can use all the accessories independently but I really like how he looks fully armed. You don’t wanna mess with this crab.
So, should you buy this?
By all means, he is a good figure and I have much fun playing with him. But as an exclusive release, he may bit a bit pricey than your usual SHF and if you compare the price, there are other SHF from the Ryuki line which offers a lot more. I would only recommend this to die-hard Ryuki’s fan, SHF completist or you really like Scissors’ design.
With that, this is the end of the review. My first SHF and definitely not my last. As usual, any comments or critics(positive or negative) are always welcomed. This is Ghost_XIII, reporting out :).

I still look at the deck design and the first thing I see is "bear" instead of crab. Bear would have been cooler, and he might have lasted. Crappy character aside, they did very well with this one.
I'm not sure, but is this and Imperer the final Ryuki Riders? Has Gai been released?
A bear?I cant see the resemblance ^^;
Well, somebody gotta die first I guess..haha..Yeah,I really like his metallic orange sheen.
I think Scissor came out quite early in the Ryuki line of SHF. Imperer is quite latest. Just left Femme to complete all Ryuki's riders.
Yes,Gai have been released but sadly under the tamashii web exclusive and gonna cost you a bomb now.
As much as I LOVE Ryuki, I have not and never will buy a Figuarts. Because if you buy one, you absolutely need all 13, and Abyss.
I collect Saint Seiya figures and Sailor Moon, I don't have room for another 14 figures!
not forgetting their contract monster. You gonna need 2 genocider to show the combined and seperate form and each cost like 200 dollar or so.
^ That's what the old figure line is for. I forget the proper name, but they did packs of two or three Contract Monsters together. If I really wanted to, I could probably find those on Y!J.
I'm guessing what you refering is the shoucaku henshin line which came with two, three contract monster in one pack. But I dont think the one from SHS combine to form Genocider..but the R&M series can.If you dont mind the screw holes and a bit sub par paintjob and details, that's a way cheaper alternatives.
No, but I vaguely recall a combined version of Genocider being released for the SH line. Thankfully, I could fix shoddy paintwork.
I could have sworn that the monsters in the Shochaku Henshin line, the EX mirror monsters, could combine to form Genocider. I should dig mine up and find out. I bought them a long time ago and I never got around to opening the set that came with Gai and Raia's mirror monsters.
My assumption is purely on the account that I never see anyone combine the contract monster to form Genocider.
You must have a mountain of stuff..haha..but do dig them out..I wanna see it to confirm it myself.
No kidding. I have a ton of toys that are either unopened or waiting to be reviewed. Now the hard part is going to be finding EX contract monsters in my pile of toys.
After some digging I found both sets of EX Mirror Monsters that I own. I present to you the Shouchaku Henshin Genocider.
Oh..they do combine?..but I cant see the picture...Do a review on it good sir..
Weird. The pictures does show up on my computer. But yes, they do combine. After playing with these guys, I do want to review the EX mirror monsters. However, I have a backlog of reviews to do, so it may take a while for me to review the EX mirror monsters.
