Not bad

Even though Star Saber always looks awfully like a Gundam rip-off, I kinda Like him in this form The girl here looks pretty cute actually. You're kinda right about her being like a Microman/Micronaut from what I can tell ^.^

That's because it is a Microman figure. That's what they were like before the line was canned in 2007.

I was really tempted to drop

I was really tempted to drop a pre-order on this, despite generally not caring about Transformers. It's the triple whammy of "hey, it's Star Saber", the Japanese tsunami support on the windows and the Calsonic livery. Ended up passing in favor of other things, but it looks really nice, and a lot more complex than I would have thought. The seats on the arms are really great.

It occurred to me suddenly that you stopped highlighting diecast content (probably a long time ago, guessing from a quick look over your reviews page), which is a shame. What parts are diecast on this guy? It's pretty hard to tell from the pictures.

Edit: As a general question, has the site been running like doo doo for anyone else? It takes about 20 seconds on average to connect to the site, and I just clocked the time for this page to load in at 1:03. This is the only site I regularly visit that is this slow, and it seems like it's been getting worse recently.

It has been getting worse,

It has been getting worse, it's not your imagination. We had some downtime the other day while we attempted to tune the databases, but it's still slow (but stable now). We're looking at our options to try and speed things up, like moving to a new server. Thanks for hanging in with us as we try to figure it out.

(FYI, I think it's quicker when you are not logged in.)

For what it's worth, it's a lot faster right now, so if you flipped a switch, it worked.
Thanks for the update.

Diecast

I don't have this figure, but I have the "plain" GT-R original, and the die-cast should be the same. It's limited to a sort of spine that runs under the car from engine to about the rear of the doors. In robot mode, it folds up in the chest-abdomen region. It adds that quality feel, but unfortunately makes him a bit back-heavy. Takara swapped the metal for plastic on the 370Z version (which is technically a different mold, but uses the same core mechanism), which improved posing a lot. Strange to see it back again.

I had a question about the size of the race queen. I've heard that she's 1:18 scale (and I can see that she's a bit bigger than an Asterisk/Kiss Players figure), but do you think she would look alright with a 1:24 scale Binaltech/Alternator?

I think she will still be too

I think she will still be too big for 1:24 scale

I still do it once in a while. I mostly do it when the diecast is on the outside of the figure, this figure has metal on the inside.
