I guess it's a mileage may vary type of thing, as my figure's shield fits real tightly. On the other hand, one of the hyper bazooka's scopes on mine was misaligned slightly, so it looks a little funny if you're posing him in the the dual wielding A Bao A Qu roll-out.

Just to clarify (before the other nerds do), those shiny covers for the knees and ankles are meant to be a more visual representation of the magnetic coating that they applied to the joints to make it respond quicker.

Also the Core Fighter is now the Core Pod because it's more compact and absolutely adorable.

Core pod

Indeed the core pod is positively adorable.

Personally I like the design, what makes it better is that this is going to be the RX-78-2's design for the next while when the Gundam origin anime comes along

So the Rx-78 gets the magnetic coating in Origin. That's pretty cool. If I remember correctly, in the novel it isn't until Amuro get the G3 that they add the magnetic coating. I cannot wait for the anime ! Bandai needs to go back to doing more UC gundam.

"In taking the toy out of the tray my suspicions are confirmed – there are a lot of parts here."

That "pile o' guns" photo is brilliant.

Also, you're killin' me with that "Range of motion is astounding." followed by like, six photos of it standing still before we get to the actual pics of the extreme poses.

This toy looks insanely good, which makes me frustrated about how drastically Katoki redesigned it. He took just about every detail he could and pulled them towards his standard style, and away from the gorgeous, distinctive manga design seen on the box.
