Front Loader
Review by JoshB
I talked about a companion piece to this unit, Compact Excavator, in a previous review, so a lot of this ground has already been covered. This is one of several Construction Robots released by "Child Star" that can combine in various configurations to form larger robots. While they may look like Constructicons, they are entirely original toys. I'm sort of bummed that I only have two out of the set, but you work with what you've got.
Front loader is a construction vehicle that is pretty common on America's construction projects. The Front End Loader takes dirt, debris, and other material and scoops it up to be dumped into piles or the back of Dump Trucks.
Packaging is pretty much the same as Compact Excavator. It's that annoying clam shell design that needs a blade to open.
Vehicle mode is nice, but there are a few minor issues. The most glaring is that the wheels are not aligned properly. The front wheels sit much higher than the back ones, making the toy slant downward in the front. Also, the arms on the side seem like they need a better place to go.
The front bucket is fully moveable.
Transformation is simple, and feels good. The plastic is a surprising high quality.
He's got a nice neutral stance, and there is basic articulation.
He comes with a great weapon that separates into two pieces. This allows the handle to be threaded through one or both hands.
Did I say basic articulation? You'd be surprised as to what you can do with him.
I'd love to get the whole set. If anyone has a line on the others, let me know.

I saw these at my local Big Lots as well, but this was a few years back before the company was forced to stop selling so many bootlegs. I think the leader of the group transformed into a big red tractor if i'm not mistaken...
i think i saw a complete set at kotoys and acetoys..i got mine at my local supermarket and it looks great and neat except for some loose joints issue.
