VF-25G Super Messiah Valkyrie Michael Custom
|
Review by Anavel
Hot off the heels of Josh's VF-25F review, here is Michael's VF-25G. The toy comes in a nice window box, simple and not too big.
The contents are the same as the VF-25F, except the regular gunpod has been replaced with Michaels's sniper rifle.
Fit, finish, and paint are exceptional. The colors on this figure really stand out; the blue and white are both pearl metallic, which looks really great. There is a little bit of tampo printing on the legs: "SMS003", which is crisp and clear. I would have liked to have seen the SMS printed on the shoulders, too.
For such a small figure, the articulation is amazing. All the joints are tight and offer a huge range of motion.
The other part about this figure that impressed me is the armor. It is a big improvement over the DX toy. It attaches very easily, and stays on well. It also has no effect on posability, which impressed me a lot. The whole set of armor seems really well planned out compared to the DX toy, where the armor almost seemed like an afterthought.
The gun is a single color of hard plastic. The detail is pretty good. The X-shaped stabilizer fins are permanently open. It would have been nice if Bandai gave you a way to display them closed, but no big loss.
Overall this is a great figure. It is fun, playable, and satisfying to hold in your hands. I would recommend getting one in place of the DX toy if you don't care about the transformation, or get one in addition to fill out your SMS squadron. Get yours at Angolz.com
