Action Figure Displays
Review by JoshB
Action Figure Displays are the brainchild of Dan and Jeff Phillips and can be found at http://www.actionfiguredisplays.com/. It's a pretty interesting idea as a way to display your figures.
These Action Figure Displays are made out of a high-quality foamcore (much better than you would find in a craft store) and have printed on graphics with a wide variety of themes.
Each set has a base and a backdrop and the only assembly you have to do is remove some tape and stick the two together. The adhesive is high-quality 3M adhesive, so the parts stay together firmly. Once attached, they don't appear to be removable.
Each part is 13.5" x 7.75". Newer versions of the stands are taller, at 10.5 inches wide, rectifying one of the only issues I had with the set.
When assembled, the base is tall enough for most action figures, but larger vehicles and things will poke out the top. Also, if using the base for photography, you are limited in what angles you can shoot from.
One thing you have to realize about these sets is that they are just display backdrops - not stands. You will need to get your own stands to ensure your figures do not fall over. Perhaps someday they will come out with a version that has pegs in the floor. (hint hint)
We got two versions - Space #1 and City. Both inspired me to get creative with my figures and well, you can look at the pictures to see where it led.
I think this is a pretty cool product, and I see a lot of opportunities here. How about one that looks like a Japanese Classroom? How about larger ones that look like an aircraft hanger? How about one that looks like a Tron game grid? The options are endless.

That's one of the coolest Glyos figures I've seen! The S+M Peter is way cool, too.
That brick wall looks like an actual seperate piece in the photos.
I was going to ask you about the backdrop for the Joker Squad, it really stepped up the whole review.
Whoa! Where did you get that Sucklord Glyos from Josh?!
That's a one-of-a-kind Matt made for me last time I was over his place. It's pretty rad, isn't it?

Rad doesn't even describe half of it. I love the pink on the visor, it actually reminds me of Rick Doms from Mobile Suit Gundam a lot. Definitely amazing.
I really dig the cityscape. The space one reminds me too much of where Luke and Vader fought in The Empire Strikes Back. Any other figures would look out of place to me.
Nice ! love that S&M Peter, does it come with the banana ? :P

That's great! Maybe they can do one's with texture on the floor or multi layer background ones (like the way multi scrolling videogame backgrounds were). They need to do a cave one. Maybe a future city scape.
Yeah, a crazy amount of opportunity there.
Using the random tool I found this.I went to the site to see how much they were, yet they're on a indefinite hiatus. I wish I could have found out about these sooner.
seeing the new comment by Slyder5597, I saw this post for the first time, and had the same disappointing discovery...
