Sweet!

Great review, you can't beat the classics!

That's not official lineart,

That's not official lineart, that's from the Macross Hobby Handbook. It's no more official than the VF-1S with the pirate's hook.

Why Andrew....

Why Andrew....

I never knew you were a poet.

Ironically what you said was poetically incorrect.

Official line art is official

Andrew,

The line art posted in this review is official as it appears with other line art in the Macross Perfect Memory book in Valkyrie section.

Eva_Unit,

The reason why the wings on the Valkyrie swing all the way forward to a 90 degree angle is because the Valkyrie was in part based om and/or influenced by the F-14 Tomcat which was a swing wing fighter and its wings swept forward like the Valkyrie in order to improve low speed handling while it swept back for high speed handling and a computer would constantly adjust the wing sweep depending on the plane's speed for optimal performance.

One other thing, the proper name for the V-tail is vertical stabilizers or rudders.

That lineart does not appear in Macross Perfect Memory (page 158). I realize both pieces depict the same thing, but one is official and one was a recreation.

Oh? Could you point me to

Oh? Could you point me to the 'official' artwork somewhere online? I got that other one from Macross Mecha Manual, and it looked authentic since I'd seen it in-person in printed form before.

Thanks for the trivia on that, BTW; I wasn't aware of that.

Re: Official line art is official

...I already know what sweeping wings are, thank you.

No, what surprises me is that- as illustrated in the video review- I've never seen a VF-1 Valkyrie with the wings opened that far out, to perpendicular. I've always seen then diagonal, so this particular sweeping extension was odd to me.

" - First, while the landing

" - First, while the landing gear struts are always made of die-cast metal, the ABS wheels were replaced with more die-cast"

Actually, the wheels in all but the 1990 Reissue are Cast Aluminum.
all other metallic components, -save for the screws, of course-
are galvanized, polished die-cast Zinc Alloy...
