Neronga
Review by JoshB
Neronga appears in the classic Ultraman series from 1965. He has since reappeared in the series "Ultra Galaxy Daikaijyu Battle" and a playable character in the Data Cardass game "Mega Monster Battle: ULTRA MONSTERS"
This kaiju is unremarkable in appearance, looking something like a poor man's Baragon mixed with Anguillas.
Articulation is limited to arms and legs, paint detail is effective. This is definitely a kids toy, not a collector's item.
The toy features a swing tag and bonus playing card for the "Data Cardass" system. The card is bar-coded and can be swiped in any of the multitudes of arcade machines in Japan featuring compatible games.
At only about $9 US, you can't go wrong with these toys. The value gets even greater if you have access to an arcade machine that uses the cards, but the odds of seeing one in the US is slim.

Where was that word all these years and why have gaijin only just started using it recently?
Also, keep the cheapo Bandai's coming. These things age so gracefully, and it's only a matter of time before the current production process is deemed "qauint"
Based on my limited Kanji knowledge this monster is called an invisble/transparent monster. I guess the toy won't do that :)
Oops
The reason Neronga looks like "a poor man's Baragon" is because Tsuburaya used the Baragon costume to create him. The Baragon suit was also used to make Pagos and Magra.
By the time Toho got the Baragon costume back it was beat to hell, which is why he doesn't do much more than lurk in the background in Destroy All Monsters.
This is the second sculpt that Bandai did of Neronga. The first one (back in the 80s) wasn't all that hot, but this one is super realistic.
This may be the second or third time this sculpt has been repainted. There was also an exclusive Hyper Hobby clear version (the monster can make himself invisible).
looks cheesy
