Marnon
Review by JoshB
Marnon is another modern Kaiju from Dream Rocket.
This one is disturbing in so many ways. From the outstretched tongue, to the exposed brain, to the faces of the helpless souls engraved on its back. I want some of what this guy was smoking.
Marnon comes from a toy line called Monster File. The characters in this line are original creations by the people at Dream Rocket. There are 11 different versions (so far) of the toy produced. You can check out this handy guide for reference.
This version is cast in a semi-translucent pink vinyl with gold, pink and red paint
It’s much shorter than your average kaiju, at about 6 inches. Articulation is limited to one part – the tongue. The rear half of the figure is a separate piece, but does not move.
This thing is creepy as hell, and I love it like crazy. I’d say that Dream Rocket is my favorite Japanese vinyl producer right now.

That thing looks like a Lovecraft nightmare crossed with the spawn of Darius the Great.
*shudder*
It looks like someone left it in the car on a hot summer afternoon and it's started to melt.
Loving these outdoor photos, Josh! Great stuff.
I really like the look of this thing, reminds me of that gorgeous Cyclopus I never got around to buying...
This reminds me of the evil turtle from Devilman that eats people's souls and you just see their ghostly undead faces trapped in his shell.
Here's a video from the Devilman OAV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XgfSMlg_fM
Warning, this video is super bloody.
