Super Fire Dagwon

Review by Shogundan
Having already reviewed all the figures in the picture below, Fire Dagwon, Power Dagwon, Lian and Gunkid from Sonokong re-issue of Brave Command Dagwon series toys. I figured I would give you a short, mostly pictorial review of what all the figures together transform into..... Get ready for Super Fire Dagwon!
Please check out the video below. The actual toy transformation is very close to the video.
Here is the impressively huge Super Fire Dagwon standing nearly 15" tall! Not only is the figure tall, but it is also very heavy, at a little over 3 lbs of quality plastic.
You may recognize Super Fire Dagwons headpiece as the chest piece from Power Dagwon. This is an example of what I really like about the design of Brave Series toys, almost all parts have a place and purpose when transforming.
Articulation of this figure is very good considering its blocky design. Articulation can be found in the shoulders, elbows and the hands can rotate, Oh and let's not forget the articulation in the massive crane arm. Even though this figure does have decent movement, for the most part, it is what I would consider a "static pose" figure, due to its size and weight.
The final combination of Super Fire Dagwon with Lian and Gunkid is really "busy" as you can see below. I don't think that he would be able to battle too well in this mode...LOL. He is very overloaded in this mode and weighs in at a staggering 5.5 lbs!
I feel that Super Fire Dagwon is possibly one of the best of all the combined Brave Series Robots. Well, maybe the second-best.... I really like Great Goldran but I'll cover that later. If you dig this figure as much as I do, please check out Big Bad Toy Store to get your own!

7 comments postedI love this figure. I have it with Gunkid and Lian on the top shelf next to my Brave Revival Great Goldran. A little bit of trivia. Super Fire Dagwon appears all of three times in the anime and the last combination (with Gunkid and Lian) is called the Triangle Christmas Beam (since the defeat of the penultimate enemy is like a present to Earth).
Except for the big shovel arm (nice idea, but coulda been done differently) and the big red brick-with-lion-head on the back (c'mon, they coulda done better than that!), this one doesn't look too bad.
Why do Brave Saga toys always have chest ornaments that block off shoulder articulation? (My Great Fighbird, Grandbird, and Grand Fighbird all have it as well.)

Those chest armours look cool :). And since these arent made for uber poses anyway they can afford them.
Y'know, Dagwon's actually one of the few Brave Series where I really just didn't get into the mechs very much. This last one's cool, and as much as I like Gunkid and Lion by themselves, I just don't feel it.
Personally I'm a big fan of Great Da Garn GX, but I'm a sucker for pretty much all of Da Garn as well.
I recently got Great Dagarn GX. very cool. I now have all molds that came out of Dagarn. That portion of Braves means so much to me and now I have them all :D I was surprise how cool the electronics are in Gaohn. That made me forgive its rather simple transformation although GX's head seems to sit a bit too high.
Really, I was only going to get Gunkid. Then this 15% off sale came around at BBTS. Then your reviews got me going further... now I've got Power Dagwon on its way (along with Thunder Baron) as well. If only Fire Dagwon had been in stock. Anyway, any available funds I might otherwise have had has gone to my new Brave obsession. All thanks to you, Dan! :)
Very impressive. These Brave toys do certanly look awsome in their all combined forms. That bird chest piece may very well be a homage to Fighbird perhaps? :D Overall a superb review. :) The pictures do this combiner justice. :)
