King Joe (Black)
Review by JoshB
I’m not sure if the manufacture is Kaijuuken or “Kaiju Ken”, but either way this is a SICK vinyl.
One of the most popular Ultra Kaiju is King Joe, and thus, gets some of the most interesting treatments. Kaijuuken comes out with this awesome black vinyl rendition of my favorite Ultra baddie.
King Joe made his first appearance in Ultraseven, but has shown up many times over the years.
Kaijuuken made several different colorways of this character, but the black really got me. It’s a deep, glossy black with strategic red and white highlights. And the sculpt – the sculpt just kills me. It has just the right amount of attitude – it has almost a cartoonish look. Here, King Joe looks like a Badass.
Not much else to say about old King Joe. Look at the pictures and go slack-jawed…
King Joe is about 7" tall, and has 3 points of articulation

How do you make something cooler then it already is...?
Paint it black, of course!
I think he's colored like this in a recent Japanese-only video game,as a "powered up" version or somesuch.
Anyway,King Joe is one of my favorite kaiju of all time. I love how in his original Ultraseven appearance,he looks nothing like the ships that combine to create him,and the SFX crew makes no effort to hide the fact that his legs are obviously cloth and not metal. :)
I actually ave a pretty cool little candy toy diorama of their epic faceoff in front of the U.N. building with all those little flags.
